Gene Cullan, J.D., Ph.D. is a senior partner of Cullan & Cullan, M.D., J.D. He has over 20 years of trial experience and the unique distinction of having a law degree and also having a doctoral degree in Anatomy from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. Gene's educational background, coupled with his experience in personal injury and medical malpractice law, enables him to fight aggressively and effectively for client's rights, medical malpractice, trucking and other personal injury cases.

Gene is a Martindale-Hubbell AV rated attorney. An AV certification means that the lawyers’ peers have ranked him at the highest level of professional excellence in terms of ethics and competence in the courtroom. An attorney must be in practice for 10 years before they can achieve an AV rating.

Gene has been named a Super Lawyer in Arizona from 2010 – 2012. Gene Cullan first received his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology, and then went on to earn Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Anatomy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. After receiving his Doctorate, Gene worked at the University of Nebraska Medical School.

Gene completed his law degree at the Creighton University School of Law in 1987. He was then selected to clerk for the Honorable Donald E. O’Brien, Chief Judge, United States District Court Northern District of Iowa. Gene served Judge O’Brien for two years before beginning private practice in 1990. Gene was a part time Judge Pro Tem in the Superior Court of Maricopa County from 2002-2003.

In addition to his dedication to nursing home abuse and neglect cases, Gene handles other catastrophic injuries which resulted from semi-truck and automobile wrecks, obstetrical malpractice (cerebral palsy and brachial plexus injuries), and other types of medical malpractice. Gene is licensed to practice law in Arizona, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa. He is a member of several distinguished legal organizations including American Association for Justice, Arizona Bar Association, Arizona Association for Justice and is a member of the Bar of Arizona, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa.
